Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment.
- Pull back the left side carpet.
- Remove the rear lid spoiler, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Remove the lid applique. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
- Remove the rear lock cylinder, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder Replacement .
- Remove the overslam bumpers, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Overslam Bumper Replacement .
- Remove the latch. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
- Remove the rear compartment lid to hinge attachment
bolts.
- With an assistant, remove the rear compartment lid.
Installation Procedure
- With an assistant, install the rear compartment lid (3).
- With an assistant, align the rear compartment lid to the hinges (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts (3) that secure the rear compartment lid to the hinges.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Adjust the compartment lid as necessary. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
- Connect the rear compartment wiring harness to the body harness.
- Install the spoiler, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Install the lid applique, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
- Install the lock cylinder. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder Replacement .
- Install the overslam bumpers, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Overslam Bumper Replacement .
- Install the latch. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
- Reposition the carpet.
- Close the rear compartment.
