The 1996 Saturn New Product Update Technical Training Course has been developed. It is a three-day course covering the following subjects:
0 For Sedans and Wagons:
- Major body styling changes
- New door structures with side impact features and new window regulators
- New sunroof module (Sedan only)
- Daytime running lights
0 For all models:
- On-board diagnostics generation two (OBD II) including sequential fuel injection, ignition system, rear heated oxygen sensor and new powertrain control modules (PCMS)
- OBD II diagnostic changes including portable diagnostic tool (PDT) enhancements, new diagnostic trouble code numbering system and new indicator lamps
- New remote keyless entry system on power door lock equipped vehicles
The New Product Update Course builds upon previously learned information. This course is intended for service technicians who have completed at least one of the following Saturn Initial Service Technical Training programs:
0 5-day Component Track (3903), plus 5-day Diagnostic Track (3910)
0 10-day Service Technical Training (04881)
0 15-day Service Technical Training (05136)
Prerequisites are established so classes can progress at a controlled rate with each participant having the necessary knowledge and experience. This New Product Update Course is not intended for technicians who have not completed one of the three above listed programs offered in Spring Hill, TN. In addition, there are no planned make-up sessions for this course.
SCHEDULE
Time: All sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m. the first day and conclude by 5:00 p.m. the third day. Please plan your travel to coincide with this schedule.
INSTRUCTOR: These classes will be conducted by Saturn Field Service Engineers, Saturn/Delta College Training Instructors, and other Saturn Personel
In keeping with our commitment to deliver update technical training regionally when feasible, this course will be delivered at General Motors STG Training Centers or Colleges as follows ENROLLMENT: Class size is limited, so enroll early to ensure availability of the session you desire to attend. Enrollment procedures are the same as for other Saturn classes.
