The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Brake dust difficult to remove from chrome clad wheel. Dust has the appearance of etching the chrome portion of the wheel.
Recommendation/Instructions:
To clean brake dust from wheels:
| • | choose a product that says it’s made for plastic wheels (obtain locally). |
| • | use a brush that is soft enough not to damage the wheel. |
| • | follow the label directions and cautions. |
| • | repeat procedure if wheel has residual brake dust. |
