Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 883086 Size: SH
  1. Remove the front mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement or Manual Mirror Replacement .
  2. Remove the front outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  3. Remove the front outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  4. Remove the outer door panel fasteners.
  5. Slide the outer door panel upward to remove the panel.
  6. If the panel is being replaced, remove the door lock cylinder bezel. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .

  7. If the panel is being replaced, remove the U-nuts.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 883086 Size: SH
  1. If the panel is being replaced, install the door lock cylinder bezel. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
  2. If a new outer panel is being installed, install the bracket with the rivets provided, at the forward edge of the door.

    3. Object Number: 897839 Size: SH
  3. If the panel is being replaced, install the U-nuts.
  4. Install the outer door panel alignment pins into the net holes on the door structure.
  5. Apply Locktite® Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent, to the bolts.

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install the outer door panel fasteners. Tighten in the sequence shown.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  7. Install the front outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  8. Install the front outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  9. Install the front mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement or Manual Mirror Replacement .
