Turn ON the vanity mirror lamp.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents

Go to Step 3

Do any courtesy lamps operate correctly?

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the appropriate lamp connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit of the vanity mirror lamp and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 7

Connect a test lamp between the vanity mirror lamp ground circuit and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the vanity mirror lamp connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Repair the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit between the lamp and the body wiring harness junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Repair a poor connection or high resistance in the lamp ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 10

Replace the vanity mirror or lamp as necessary. Refer to Sunshade Replacement in interior trim or Sunshade Illuminated Mirror Lamp Bulb Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
