Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Upper Radiator Support

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 293959  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 293956  Size: SH
  3. Remove the 4 bolts from the engine mount strut bracket to the upper radiator support.
  4. Remove the engine mount strut bracket from the upper radiator support.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the engine mount strut bracket over the upper radiator support so the engine mount strut bracket and the engine mount strut are aligned. Align the engine mount strut bracket with the proper holes of the upper radiator support.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 4 bolts through the engine mount strut bracket to the upper radiator support.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Engine

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 293959  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  2. If equipped, remove the A.I.R. control valve from the engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Shutoff Valve Replacement - Bank 2 in Engine Controls-3.5L.
  3. Loosen the water crossover bolts. Adjust the water crossover for access. Refer to Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  4. Object Number: 234317  Size: SH
  5. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolts from the engine mount strut bracket (1) to the cylinder head.
  6. Remove the engine mount strut bracket (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine mount strut bracket (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the engine mount strut bracket bolts through the engine mount strut bracket (1) to the cylinder head.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the water crossover. Refer to Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  7. If equipped, install the A.I.R. check valve. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Shutoff Valve Replacement - Bank 2 in Engine Controls-3.5L.

  9. Install the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
