Is the inoperative mirror the LH outside rearview mirror?

Go to Step 2

  1. Disconnect the LH outside rearview mirror wiring harness connector.
  2. Using a test light, probe between the LH outside rearview mirror harness connector (male side) terminal A and B+.
  3. Set the outside mirror select switch to LH mirror.
  4. Press and hold the outside remote control rearview mirror switch to the LEFT position.

Did the test light come on?

Check for a poor connection or open in circuit 81.

Is there a poor connection or open in circuit 81?

Go to Step 4

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 81. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the outside remote control rearview mirror switch. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window and Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the RH outside rearview mirror wiring harness connector.
  2. Using a test light, probe between the RH outside rearview mirror harness connector (male side) terminal A and B+.
  3. Set the outside mirror select switch to RH mirror.
  4. Press and hold the outside remote control rearview mirror switch to LEFT.

Did the test light come on?

Go to Step 7

Replace the mirror motor pack. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement for service procedure.
