Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 164499  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the outside rearview mirror.
  4. Important: Support the outside rearview mirror.

  5. Remove the outside rearview mirror to front door nuts.
  6. Remove the outside rearview mirror from the front door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Align the outside rearview mirror to the front door.

  2. Object Number: 164499  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rearview outside mirror to front door nuts.
  4. Start with the lower left nut and proceed in a clockwise direction.

    Tighten
    Tighten the outside rearview mirror nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the electrical connector to the rearview outside mirror.
  6. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
