The Body Control Module (BCM) is connected to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver by the communication circuit. This circuit is the Serial data link for communication between the two modules.
• | The BCM detects a short to ground in the communication circuit. |
• | The condition above must be present for more than 0.3 seconds. |
The BCM stores DTC B3102 in memory.
• | A current DTC B3102 will clear if the short to ground in the communication circuit is no longer detected by the BCM. |
• | A history DTC B3102 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present. |
• | A scan tool may be used to clear the DTC. |
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
This step checks to see if the System Check was done.
This step checks to see if the steady state circuit is at B+.
Step | Action | Value(s) | Yes | No |

Important: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the Remote Control Door Lock receiver must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter Replace the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver. Refer to Receiver Replacement . Did you complete the replacement? | -- | Go to Step 9 | -- |
