Removal Procedure
- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to
Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Lower the window.
- Remove the inner window sealing strip. Refer to
Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement
.
- Remove the outer window sealing strip. Refer to
Outer Belt Sealing Strip Replacement
.
- Remove the bolt (2) that
retains the front run channel to the door.
- Remove the front run channel from the door.
- Remove the nuts that retain the window to the sash.
- Raise the window approximately half way so that you can access
the nuts that retain the window to the sash. Access the nuts through the holes
in the front door module.
- Remove the window from the outside of the door.
- Remove the bolt (2) that retains the rear run channel to the door.
- Remove the rear run channel from the door.
- Remove the inside handle from the door. Refer to
Door Inside Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the lock rods from the front door module (1).
- Remove the electrical harness from the front door module (1).
- Drill out the rivets (3) that retain the front door module (1)
to the door.
- Remove the front door module (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the
front door module (1) to the vehicle.
- Rivet (3) the front door module (1) to the door.
- Install the electrical harness to the front door module (1).
- Install the lock rods to the front door module.
- Install the inside handle to the door. Refer to
Door Inside Handle Replacement
.
- Install the rear run channel to the door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolt
(2) in order to retain the rear run channel to the door.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Install the window from the outside of the door.
- Install the nuts in order to retain the window to the sash.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining nuts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Lower the window.
- Install the front run channel to the door.
- Install the bolt (2) in order to retain the front run channel
to the door.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Install the inner window sealing strip. Refer to
Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement
.
- Install the outer window sealing strip. Refer to
Outer Belt Sealing Strip Replacement
.
- Install the front door water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Install the front door trim panel. Refer to
Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
