Battery Tray Replacement Front
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery negative
terminal. Refer to
Battery Cable Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Disconnect the battery positive cable from the battery positive
terminal. Refer to
Battery Cable Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the battery limiter from the vehicle if equipped. Refer
to
Battery Limiter Replacement
in Engine
Electrical.
- Remove the battery hold-down
bolt and retainer.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the battery tray
bolts.
- Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.
- Remove the vacuum hose
and tank from the battery tray.
Installation Procedure
- Install the vacuum hose
and tank to the battery tray.
- Install the battery tray
to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the battery tray bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the battery.
- Install the hold-down retainer and bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the retainer bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the positive battery cable to the battery. Refer to Battery
Cable.
Tighten
Tighten the cable to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Install the negative battery cable to the battery. Refer to Battery
Cable.
Tighten
Tighten the cable to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Install the battery limiter to the vehicle if equipped. Refer
to
Battery Limiter Replacement
in Engine
Electrical.
Battery Tray Replacement Rear
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery negative
terminal. Refer to
Battery Cable Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Disconnect the auxiliary positive and negative battery cables.
Refer to
Battery Cable Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Support the battery tray with a jackstand or equivalent.
- Remove the battery tray
bolts.
- Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.
- Remove the battery hold-down
retainer bolt.
- Remove the battery from the tray.
Installation Procedure
- Install the battery to
the tray.
- Install the battery hold-down retainer bolt.

- Install the front battery negative battery cable. Refer to
