Verify that the power mirrors are inoperative. Are both power mirrors inoperative?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Backprobe the power mirror switch with a test lamp from cavity 5 to ground with the ignition switch in the ON position.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in the WHT/BLK wire between the power mirror switch and the junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Backprobe the power mirror switch with a test lamp from cavity 7 to B+.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in the BLK wire between the power mirror switch and G200. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the power mirror switch connector.
  3. Disconnect the left front power mirror motor connector.
  4. Test for continuity in the GRY wire between cavity 3 of the left front power mirror motor connector and cavity 6 of the power mirror switch.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in the GRY wire between the power mirror switch and S243. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Replace the power mirror switch. Refer to Power Mirror Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
