Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 284024 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the wire harness from the compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .

    2. Important: Do not detach the remote release cable from the compartment lid latch assembly.

  2. Remove the compartment lid latch assembly. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
  3. Remove the compartment lid hinge bolts (1) from the rear compartment lid (3).
  4. Remove the compartment lid (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 284024 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid (3).

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the hinge bolts (1) to the rear compartment lid (3).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  3. Install the compartment lid latch assembly. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
  4. Connect the wire harness to the compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
  5. Adjust the compartment lid as necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
