Removal Procedure
- Remove the driver or passenger front seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the head rest. Refer to
Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement
.
- Remove the knob on the release lever for the seat back lock on
Coupe and Convertible models.
- Disengage the front seat back pad and cover closeout strip.
- Lift the front seat back
pad and cover as necessary in order to access the front seat recliner bolts (1).
- Remove the front seat recliner bolts (1, 2).
- Remove the front seat recliner.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front seat
recliner.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the front
seat recliner bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the front seat recliner back bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
- Install the front seat cushion bolts (2)
Tighten
Tighten the front seat cushion bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Reposition the front seat back pad and cover assembly.
- Reconnect the front seat back pad and cover closeout strip.
- Install the knob on the release lever for the seat back lock.
- Install the headrest. Refer to

- Install the driver or passenger front seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
