J 42214 Headrest Removal Tool

1. Raise the headrest (1) off of the seat back (4).
2. Move the seat back cover to the right side of the seat near the headrest in order to locate the headrest guide tube thru the holes in the top of the trim cover.

Perform the above action from behind the seat back (4).

3. Apply upward tension to the headrest (1).
4. Slide the tip of the J 42214 down along the right rear side of the headrest guide tube.
5. Push the J 42214 toward the right side of the seat in order to release the retaining clip from notch in the head rest post.
6. Apply upward tension to the headrest (1) in order to prevent the first clip from re-engaging.
7. Perform the previous 4 steps on the other headrest guide tube in order to remove the headrest assembly (1) from the seatback.

The headrest cover and foam are not replaceable, it must be replaced as a unit.

1. Perform the following procedure in order to install the headrest (1).

1.1.	Insert the posts into the guide tubes.

1.2.	Push the headrest (1) to the lowest position.

2. Pull up on the headrest (1) in order to verify that the lock springs are engaged.

Performing the above action prevents the headrest (1) from being removed.
