Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seatback pad and cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 279095  Size: MH
  3. Remove the knob (4).
  4. Remove the actuator screws (5).
  5. Remove the actuator (6) using the following steps:
  6. 4.1. Recline the seatback to the full reclined position.
    4.2. Disconnect the cable from the actuator.
  7. Remove the lumbar retaining clips (9) from the seatback frame (1).
  8. Remove the lumbar assembly (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 279095  Size: MH
  1. Install the lumbar assembly (2) to the seatback frame (1).
  2. Use new retaining clips when you secure the lumbar assembly (2) to the seatback frame (1).

  3. Install the front seatback pad and the front seatback cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .
  4. Route the cable through the seat cushion.
  5. Install the actuator (6) by connecting the cable.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the acutator screws (5).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws until the actuator screws are fully driven and fully seated. Do not strip the actuator screws.

  9. Install the knob (4).
