J 35354 Seal Installer

1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .

Important: Be careful not to damage the crankshaft.

2. Pry out the seal with a suitable tool such as a large screwdriver. Use care to avoid damaging the seal bore or the seal contact surfaces.
3. Inspect the crankshaft and front cover for scratches.

1. Lubricate the seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the seal in the front cover using J 35354 . Use the crankshaft balancer bolt with the tool.
3. Tighten the bolt until the seal is seated in the cover.
4. Remove J 35354 .
5. Coat the outside seal surface of the crankshaft balancer with lubricant GM P/N 1050169 or equivalent.
6. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
7. Inspect for leaks.
