Some customers may comment on an SES telltale illuminated with DTC P0453 - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor stored in PCM.
This condition may be caused by the current PCM calibration.
Reprogram the PCM with the new calibration available on Saturn Service Stall System (SSS) version TIS 06/2004 or greater and re-evaluate the vehicle following the service procedure in this bulletin.
Important: Before installing new PCM calibration, make sure the Saturn Service Stall System (SSS) version is TIS 06/2004 or greater.
Important: While ignition is OFF, apply parking brake to disable daytime running lights (DRL) prior to starting reprogramming procedure.
Important: Technician must select "Replace and Re-program" option in order to re-calibrate the vehicle. (Calibration I.D. Number 12594438 or later)
Reprogram the PCM with the updated calibration identified in SSS version TIS 06/2004 or greater for the 3.5L (RPO L66) engine. Refer to the Saturn Programming System (SPS) in the Vehicle Controls Systems section of the 2004 Saturn VUE Service Manual Vol. 2 (SI Document ID #1265170) for reprogramming procedures.
