Purpose
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide diagnostic information for DTC C0267
- Low Brake Fluid Indicated that was not provided in the 2000 S-Series Brakes
Service Manual.
This Information is provided to ensure proper diagnosis of 2000 model year Saturn
S-Series Vehicles.
Please obtain all the 2000 S-Series Brakes Service Manuals at your location
and update as indicated below.
Make photo copies of pages 2 and 3 of this bulletin. Insert a set of photo copies
between pages 38 and 39 of the Base Brakes section of all the 2000 S-Series Brakes
Service Manuals.
C0267 - Low Brake Fluid Indicated
Circuit Description
Under low brake fluid conditions, the brake fluid switch closes. When closed,
the brake fluid switch grounds (circuit 33, BCM cavity J3-B11). The body control
module (BCM) responds by sending a serial data message to the instrument panel cluster (IPC)
to turn On the brake telltale lamp.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
| • | Ignition switch in RUN or CRANK |
| • | Circuit 33, BCM cavity J3-B11 grounded |
| • | Condition must be present for 2 seconds |
Diagnostic Aids
| • | Inspect the wiring harness for damage. Check for broken or chaffed insulation. |
| • | If the fault is suspected to be intermittent, wiggling the harness wiring
may help in locating the fault. |
