Service Manual Update to Provice Coupe Front Safety Belt Procedures in All 2000 Model Year S-Series Restraints Service Manuals

The purpose of this bulletin is to provide Coupe front safety belt procedures that were omitted from all the 2000 S-Series Restraints Service Manuals.

Photo copies of pages 2 through 6 in this bulletin should be made and inserted after page 96 in all 2000 S-Series Manuals at your facility.

1. Remove-seat belt rocker anchor fastener.



2. Route seat belt webbing through slit on shoulder belt guide.



3. Remove seat belt retractor cover by puling at clip locations.
4. Route seat belt retractor cover down the length of seat belt webbing.




Caution: APPLY LOCTITE 242® THREADLOCKER (OR EQUIVALENT) TO ALL RESTRAINT FASTENERS BEFORE INSTALLATION

5. Install seat belt rocker anchor fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

1. Slide seat belt webbing through slit in shoulder belt guide on seat back.
2. Remove shoulder belt guide fasteners and remove shoulder belt guide.

Installation

1. Install shoulder belt guide and fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners 5 N·m (44 lb in).

2. Slide seat belt webbing through slit in shoulder belt guide on seat back.

1. Slide seat belt webbing through slit in shoulder belt guide on head rest.



2. Remove head rest.

•	Raise headrest assembly to full up position.

•	Push headrest release lever toward rear of vehicle.

•	Pull headrest the rest of the way out of seat back.




3. Remove fasteners from underneath headrest.
4. Slide shoulder belt guide down off headrest.

Installation

1. Install shoulder beltguide up onto headrest.
2. Install shoulder belt guide-to-headrest attachment fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 5 N·m (44  lb in).




3. Install headrest.

•	Align headrest support rods with holes in seat back.

•	Push headrest release lever toward rear of vehicle.

•	Push headrest down into seat back.




4. Slide seat belt webbing through slit on shoulder belt guide on headrest.
