The traction active telltale lamp should turn On for a bulb check when the ignition is turned to RUN. Three seconds later, if the ABS control module doesn't detect a fault, the telltale lamp should turn Off. The ABS control module turns the traction active telltale lamp On by providing a ground path for the telltale lamp circuit.
Code 13 sets if:
The traction active telltale lamp circuit is open, grounded, or shorted to battery.
When code 13 sets:
The service telltale lamp is turned On.
ABS is enabled.
Important: Grounding the circuit from the cluster to the ABS control module will cause the telltale lamp to turn On. Opening the circuit will turn the telltale Off.
