To change the headlamps from low beam to high or high beam to low, pull the turn signal/multifunction lever all the way toward you. Then release it.
When the high beams are on, a blue light on the instrument panel cluster will also be on.
You'll find the headlamp control switch here, on the turn signal/multifunction lever.
The headlamp switch controls the following lighting systems:
• | Headlamps |
• | Parking Lamps |
• | Sidemarker Lamps |
• | License Plate Lamps |
Here's how your lamp system works:
• | Rotate the lever up one notch to turn on the parking lamps, side marker lamps, license plate lamps, and instrument panel lighting. |
• | Rotate the lever all the way up to turn on the headlamps and the instrument panel lighting. |
• | If the parking lamps or headlamps are left on with the ignition off, and the driver's door open, a chime will sound to remind you to turn your headlamp switch to the "OFF" position. |
Pull the lever toward you just enough to momentarily switch to high beam position (to signal that you are going to pass). When you release the lever, the high beam lamps will turn off.
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) can make it easier for others to see the front of your vehicle during the day. DRL can be helpful in many different driving conditions, but they can be especially helpful in the short periods after dawn and before sunset. Fully functional daytime running lamps are required on all vehicles first sold in Canada.
The high beam headlamps will come on at half the normal brightness when:
• | The ignition is ON, |
• | The headlamp switch is OFF. |
• | The gear select is not in park. |
When you turn on your headlamps, the DRL will switch off and the exterior lights will come on.
As with any vehicle, you should turn on the regular headlamp system when you need it. When you turn off the headlamps, the exterior lamps will go out and the high beam headlamps will come on again.
To idle your vehicle with the DRL off, move the shift lever to PARK (P). The DRL will stay off until you move the shift lever out of PARK (P).
When the daytime running lamps are on, the DRL indicator in the instrument panel is illuminated.
