Removal Procedure
Inside handle rod and actuator (lock button) rod
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Cycle the window to the full up position.
- Partially remove the water deflector.
- Remove the rods (1-4) as required.
Lock cylinder rod and outside handle rod - front doors only
- Remove the door outer panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Outer Panel

- Cycle the window to the full up position.
- Partially remove the door insulator. Refer to
Front Side Door Insulator

Important: The rod retaining clips used in the door lock levers and mechanisms are not
re-usable. Retention characteristics are minimized once a rod is extracted. The
clips must be replaced every time a rod is extracted.
Important: To adjust the rods, it is necessary to remove all of the tension on all of the
components. If equipped with an adjustable nut, rotate the nut until it reaches
the lock lever with no tension and install to the lock lever. If equipped with an
adjustable clip, remove the clip from the rod and install to the lock lever. Install
the rod to the clip with no tension. Make sure the inside door lock handle is in
the proper position when "locked."
- Remove the rods (1-4) as required.
Installation Procedure

- Install the rods (1-4).
- Install the water deflector. Refer to

- Install the door trim panel. Refer to

Lock cylinder rod and outside handle rod - front doors only
- Install the rods (1-4).
- Install the sound door insulator. Refer to
Front Side Door Insulator

- Install the door outer panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Outer Panel
