Your fuel gage shows about how much fuel you have left in your tank. The fuel gage goes to "E" when the ignition is turned off. When the gage first says "E," you still have a little fuel left, but you need to get more right away.

Here are concerns some owners may have about the fuel gage. All these situations are normal and do not indicate that anything is wrong with the fuel gage:

    • At the gas station, the gas pump shuts off before the gage reads "F."
    • The gage moves a little when you turn, stop or speed up.
    • The gage takes a few seconds to stabilize after the ignition is turned on.
    • The gage reads "E" when you first turn the ignition on. Then, after about three seconds, it displays the proper fuel level.
