FUEL FIX ALLOWANCE

SUBJECT: Fuel Fill Allowance -------------------

TO: Saturn Fixed Operations Managers

--------------------------------

This bulletin supercedes bulletin 94-F-27A, dated February 9, 1995, which should be discarded.

In response to recent fuel price changes, Saturn Corporation will review national average fuel prices on a monthly basis and will adjust the fuel fill allowance to retailers if prices change by five cents or more per gallon versus the previous month's rate. This practice of fuel fill allowance will be effective June 1, 1996, and will remain in effect until further notice. Our previous practice was to review fuel prices every three months and make adjustments when the fuel allowance in effect varied by $0.10 from the previous quarter's fuel prices.

Beginning with deliveries made on or after June 1, 1996, Saturn will increase the fuel allowance from $11.00 to $12.54.

We will continue to monitor fuel prices utilizing the Lundberg Gasoline Price Report to determine the national average. Retailers will be notified if the fuel price varies five cents or more from a previous month.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
