MODEL YEAR PARTS ROLL-OUT

SUBJECT: 1996 MODEL YEAR PARTS ROLL-OUT

OVERVIEW: The 1996 model year is fast approaching and with that comes approximately 125 new initial suggested stocking policies for 1996 parts. The majority of these parts will have a suggested maximum stocking level of one. Saturn estimates that the additional - inventory investment from stocking these parts will be approximately 15% over current inventory investment and storage space requirements will increase by 20%. These percentages will vary depending on the size of a Retailer's inventory.

OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this bulletin is to provide preliminary part information and a tentative schedule of when suggested stocking policies will be downloaded for your storage space planning purposes. THIS INFORMATION CONTAINS THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION AVAILABLE AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

SUGGESTED STOCKING POLICY SCHEDULE:

These 1996 parts will be distributed over a 10 week period and stocking policies will be released daily beginning the week of June 19, 1995. This will allow a smooth distribution flow and even out the workload required to handle this additional volume. The success of this distribution is highly dependent upon your daily review and approval of suggested stocking policies.

NOTE: THIS IS A PRELIMINARY STOCKING POLICY SCHEDULE BASED ON SEVERAL ASSUMPTIONS. DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

PARTS DISTRIBUTION REPORT:

To help Parts Managers plan for future parts requirements, the following report is provided which details all parts planned to be suggested for initial stocking. THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS REPORT IS TO PROVIDE NOTIFICATION OF THESE PARTS FOR YOUR STORAGE SPACE PLANNING PURPOSES.

To assist with this planning, "similar part" information is provided because the weight and prices are not yet available for some new parts. A "similar part" is the part(s) which most closely coffesponds to the new 1996 part. 1996 design changes allow for a reduction of parts therefore, in some instances, one part has multiple "similar parts" listed.

This report has been sorted as follows:

- All other noncrash parts are sorted in descending order by Dealer Net of the similar part.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
