Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  3. Object Number: 896489  Size: SH
  4. Remove the right side heater duct assembly retainer.
  5. Remove the right side heater duct assembly.

  6. Object Number: 894265  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the recirculation actuator electrical connector.

  8. Object Number: 892697  Size: SH
  9. Remove the recirculation actuator bracket screws.
  10. Remove the recirculation actuator assembly from the shaft.
  11. Remove by pulling the assembly towards the front of the dash.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 892697  Size: SH
  1. Install the recirculation actuator assembly onto the door shaft.
  2. The shaft has 2 flats that must be aligned to the actuator.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the recirculation actuator bracket screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  5. Connect the recirculation actuator electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 896489  Size: SH
  7. Install the right side heater duct assembly.
  8. Install the right side heater duct assembly retainer.
  9. Install the I/P storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
