    Important: The push rod length is adjusted at the factory and should not need adjustment. If the adjustment has been tampered with, the following procedure should be used.

  1. Remove the brake booster from the vehicle. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
  2. Important: The dimension is measured from the brake booster mounting surface to the end of the brake booster push rod connector.

  3. Loosen the adjuster jam nut.
  4. Adjust the brake booster push rod connector length to 184.75 mm +/- 0.25  mm (7.27 in. +/- 0.01 in).
  5. Tighten the adjuster jam nut to the brake booster push rod connector.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the jam nut-to-brake booster push rod connector to 18 N·m (159 lb in).

  7. Install the brake booster to vehicle. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
