Removal Procedure
Important: The engine must be supported upon removal
of the engine mount.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in
Engine Electrical.
- Remove the right front engine mount and engine mount bracket from the
engine block. Refer to
Engine Mount Replacement
.
- Use
a 15 mm wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise while sliding the drive
belt off the tensioner or water pump pulley.
- Remove the drive belt.
- Clean and inspect the serpentine drive belt surfaces.
Installation Procedure
- Route
the belt around all pulleys, except the tensioner or water pump.
Important: Ensure that the drive belt is aligned into
the proper grooves on the drive pulley.
- Use a 15 mm wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise.
- Slip the belt over the idler or water pump pulley.
- Install the right front engine mount. Refer to
Engine Mount Replacement
.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten
Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N·m
(13 lb ft).
