Removal Procedure
Caution: Do not allow smoking or the use of open flames in the area where work on the
fuel or EVAP system is taking place. Anytime work is being done on the
fuel system, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those tests where battery
voltage is required.
- Turn the ignition
OFF.
- Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid harness connector.
- Remove the EVAP purge solenoid manifold vacuum supply hose clamp and hose.
- Disconnect the EVAP purge line quick disconnect at the EVAP purge solenoid
and discard the retaining clip from the EVAP line.
- Remove the EVAP purge solenoid by pulling it up from its airbox mount.
Installation Procedure
Important: Always use a new quick disconnect retaining clip on the EVAP line when replacing
the EVAP purge solenoid.
- Install the new EVAP line retaining clip to the EVAP line.
- Connect the EVAP purge line quick disconnect to the EVAP purge solenoid.
Pull back on the EVAP line to confirm locked engagement.
- Connect the EVAP purge solenoid manifold vacuum line with the hose clamp.
- Connect the EVAP purge solenoid harness connector. Push the connector
in until the lock position is felt, then pull back to confirm engagement.
- Install the EVAP purge solenoid over the airbox mount.
