Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 891528  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle on the hoist.
  2. Remove the rear wheel and tire assembly.
  3. Vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, remove the brake line to the rear axle control arm attachment clip.

  4. Object Number: 891530  Size: SH
  5. On vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, remove the caliper to knuckle bolts and move the caliper out of the way.

  6. Object Number: 891501  Size: SH
  7. Remove the brake drum/rotor attachment screw.
  8. Remove the brake drum/rotor.

  9. Object Number: 891504  Size: SH
  10. If equipped, disconnect the ABS electrical connector.

  11. Object Number: 891507  Size: SH
  12. Remove the wheel hub-to-control arm nuts and discard.
  13. Remove the hub from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 891507  Size: SH
  1. Install the hub into the control arm assembly using new nuts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear hub-to-knuckle to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. If equipped, connect the ABS wiring harness to the sensor.

  4. Object Number: 891501  Size: SH
  5. Install the drum/rotor and tighten the attachment screw.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the rear brake drum-to-hub screw to 4 N·m (35 lb in).


    Object Number: 891530  Size: SH
  7. Vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, install the rear caliper and tighten the bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the rear caliper mounting bolts to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).


    Object Number: 891528  Size: SH
  9. Vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, install the brake line to the rear axle control arm bracket.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the rear brake line bracket-to-knuckle to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

    Notice: Refer to Wheel Installation Caution in the Preface section.

  11. Install the wheel and tire assemblies onto the hub.
  12. Install the wheel bolts and tighten in a star pattern.
  13. 7.1. Hand tighten all five wheel bolts.
    7.2. Use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel bolts using a star pattern.

    Tighten
    Tighten the wheel bolts first pass to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).

    7.3. Use a torque wrench to final tighten the wheel bolts using a star pattern.

    Tighten
    Tighten the wheel bolts final pass to 125 N·m (92 lb ft).

  14. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
