Verify the one door or switch power door locks inoperative fault is present.

Do the power door locks operate normally?

Is the door lock switch the inoperative component?

Are both the LOCK and UNLOCK functions inoperative?

Is the LOCK function the inoperative function?

Is the driver door lock actuator the inoperative actuator?

  1. Disconnect the driver door lock actuator.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the driver door lock actuator unlock control circuit and the door lock actuator lock control circuit of the driver door lock actuator electrical connector.
  3. Activate a door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 16

  1. Disconnect the appropriate door lock actuator.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the door lock actuator unlock control circuit and the door lock actuator lock control circuit of the appropriate door lock actuator electrical connector.
  3. Activate a door lock switch to the LOCK position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Activate a door lock switch to the UNLOCK position.

Test the battery positive voltage circuit from the BODY fuse to the door lock switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the driver door lock switch lock signal circuit for an open or short to battery. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Perform the set-up procedure for the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
  2. Replace the body control Module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Replace the appropriate door lock relay.
