Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 893834 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  3. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the control cable end from the pin on the control assembly.
  4. Remove the control cable retaining clip.
  5. Depress the tabs on the control cable and remove the cable from the control assembly.

  6. Disconnect the control assembly electrical connectors.

    7. Object Number: 893837 Size: SH
  7. Remove the control assembly-to-floor pan bolts and remove the control assembly.
  8. If the shift control assembly is being replaced, transfer the parts as needed. Refer to the appropriate procedures in this service manual.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 893837 Size: SH
  1. Install the control assembly into the vehicle and install the control assembly-to-floor pan bolts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the control assembly-to-floor pan bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  2. Connect the control assembly electrical connectors.

    3. Object Number: 893834 Size: SH
  3. Connect the control cable to the pin on the control assembly.
  4. Secure the control cable into the control assembly by pushing into place.
  5. Install the control cable retaining clip.
  6. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
