Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 893834  Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in Restraints.
  2. Pull up on control boot until indicator bezel disengages from console.

  3. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  4. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the control cable from the control assembly.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the indicator bezel.
  6. Remove the control cable retaining clip.
  7. Press the tabs on the control cable and remove the cable from the control assembly.

  9. Disconnect the control cable from the transaxle range switch lever.
  10. Remove the control cable retaining clip.
  11. Press the 2 tabs on the control cable and remove the cable from the control cable bracket.

  12. Object Number: 893234  Size: SH
  13. Remove the control cable grommet from the dash panel.
  14. Remove the control cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 893234  Size: SH
  1. Guide the control cable through the pass-through in the dash panel.
  2. Secure the control cable grommet by pressing the cable into the pass-through hole in the dash panel.

  3. Object Number: 893827  Size: SH
  4. Route the control cable through the cable bracket on the powertrain mount, and secure the cable into the bracket.
  5. Install the control cable retaining clip.

  6. Object Number: 893834  Size: SH
  7. Connect the control cable end to the control assembly lever.
  8. Connect the control cable to pin on the control assembly.
  9. Secure the control cable into the control assembly by pushing into place.
  10. Install the control cable retaining clip.
  11. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  12. Adjust the control cable assembly. Refer to Shift Lock Control Cable Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in Restraints.
