Removal Procedure

    Important: Left side shown, right side similar


    Object Number: 891946 Size: SH
  1. Place the height adjuster to the lowest position.
  2. Remove the center pillar weatherstrip/cover to expose the adjuster attaching the fasteners.

    3. Object Number: 897246 Size: SH

    Important: Care must be taken not to drop fasteners in the center pillar structure.

  3. Remove the shoulder belt height adjuster fasteners.

    4. Object Number: 897211 Size: SH
  4. Starting at the top, pull inward to partially remove the center pillar upper and lower trim moldings.

    5. Object Number: 897194 Size: SH
  5. Pull on the height adjuster to disengage the attaching clip.

    6. Object Number: 897193 Size: SH
  6. Pull on the height adjuster to release the pin and remove it from the height adjuster.

    7. Object Number: 897246 Size: SH
  7. Temporarily install the height adjuster onto the center pillar.
  8. Hand tighten the fasteners.

  9. Remove the shoulder belt fastener from the height adjuster.

    10. Important: Care must be taken not to drop the fasteners in the center pillar structure.

  10. Remove the fasteners and remove the height adjuster.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 897894 Size: SH

    Caution: Apply Loctite 242® Threadlocker US P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, on all restraint bolts/nuts before installation. Failure to use such threadlocker correctly may result in personal injury.

  1. Temporarily install the shoulder belt height adjuster to the center pillar.
  2. Hand tighten, but do not torque the fasteners.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the top of the shoulder belt assembly to the height adjuster with the shoulder belt fastener.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the shoulder belt to height adjuster bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

    Important: Care must be taken not to drop the fasteners in the center pillar structure.

  4. Remove the height adjuster fasteners and remove the height adjuster from the center pillar.

  5. Align the height adjuster lower hole to the hinged retainer clip and snap the adjuster into the clip.

    6. Object Number: 897193 Size: SH
  6. Align the height adjuster upper retaining pins into the slider assembly and snap the adjuster into place.

    7. Object Number: 896736 Size: SH
  7. If the shoulder belt has come off the belt guide, install the shoulder belt behind the shoulder belt guide.

    8. Object Number: 897211 Size: SH
  8. Position the center pillar lower and upper molding (with the height adjuster attached) to the center pillar. The height adjuster fasteners will protrude through the holes in the center pillar.
  9. Snap the moldings into place by pushing at the clip locations.

    10. Object Number: 897246 Size: SH
  10. Install the height the adjuster fasteners.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the height adjuster fasteners to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  11. Install the center pillar outside weatherstrip.

    12. Object Number: 896325 Size: SH
  12. Position the door weatherstrip over the center pillar molding.
  13. Function the shoulder belt height adjuster for proper operation.
