Front Fender Replacement Coupe

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  2. Remove the rocker panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  3. Remove the mirror applique.
  4. Remove the front roof applique. Refer to Roof Weld Joint Reveal Molding Replacement - Front .
  5. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  6. Remove the side marker lamp assembly. Refer to Front Side Marker Lamp Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 864047  Size: SH
  8. Remove the rear of the front fascia from the fender support bracket.

  9. Object Number: 863844  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolts from the bottom, front, and top of the fender.
  11. Remove the fender from the vehicle.
  12. If the fender requires replacement, remove the following components:
  13. • The fender emblem. Refer to Front Fender Emblem/Nameplate Replacement .
    • The fender brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. If the fender requires replacement, install the following components:
  2. • The fender emblem. Refer to Front Fender Emblem/Nameplate Replacement .
    • The fender brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement .

  3. Position the fender on the motor compartment side rail.
  4. Align the fender to the door and the hood.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the bolt which secures the fender to the front body hinge pillar.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  8. Install the following bolts:
  9. • The bolts that secure the fender flange to the upper compartment side rail
    • The bolts that secure the fender to the headlamp bracket
    • The bolts that secure the rear lower fender to the support

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  10. Position the fascia from the fender. Press the fascia into place.
  11. Install the side marker lamp assembly. Refer to Front Side Marker Lamp Replacement .
  12. Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  13. Install the front roof applique. Refer to Roof Weld Joint Reveal Molding Replacement - Front .
  14. Install the front fender. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  15. Install the mirror applique.
  16. Install the rocker panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  17. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .

Front Fender Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  2. Remove the rocker panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  3. Remove the front roof applique. Refer to Roof Weld Joint Reveal Molding Replacement - Front .
  4. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .

  6. Remove the rear of the front fascia from the fender support bracket.

  7. Object Number: 864093  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolts from the bottom, front, and top of the fender.
  9. Remove the fender from the motor compartment side rail.
  10. If the fender requires replacement, remove the following components:
  11. • The fender emblem. Refer to Front Fender Emblem/Nameplate Replacement .
    • The fender brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. If the fender requires replacement, install the following components:
  2. • The fender emblem. Refer to Front Fender Emblem/Nameplate Replacement .
    • The fender brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement .

  3. Position the fender on the motor compartment side rail.
  4. Align the fender to the door and the hood.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.     Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  10. Position the fascia from the fender. Snap the fascia into place.
  11. Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  12. Install the front roof applique. Refer to Roof Weld Joint Reveal Molding Replacement - Front .
  13. Install the rocker panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  14. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
