Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- For the sedan only, remove the upper grilles. Refer to
Front Bumper Upper Fascia Grille Replacement .
- Mark the hood latch location to the support bracket with a grease pencil.
- Remove the hood latch bolts.
- Disconnect the release cable from the hood latch by
squeezing the cable retainer.
- Remove the hood latch from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hood latch release cable to the hood latch.
- Position the hood latch to the alignment marks on the support bracket.
- Install the hood latch bolts.
- Tighten the latch bolts with the latch in the full up position.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Slowly close the hood and press down until the hood is flush with the fenders.
- Open the hood.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Adjust the hood, if required. Refer to
Hood Adjustment .
- Install the upper grilles. Refer to
Front Bumper Upper Fascia Grille Replacement .
- Close the hood.
