Rear Side Door Outer Panel Replacement Coupe
Removal Procedure
- Open the door and remove the retaining bolts from the rear of the door opening.
- Close the door and remove the retaining bolts in the door opening.
- Pull out the lower portion of the door panel, and slide the panel downward to clear the window encapsulated molding.
- Remove the outer panel from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the upper portion of the outer door panel underneath the window encapsulated molding.
- Push the lower portion of the panel into position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the bolts. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Slowly close the door. Verify the alignment of the outer door panel.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the outer belt seal. Refer to

- Remove the outside door release handle. Refer to
Door Outside Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the outer door panel fasteners.
- Remove the outer door panel from the door.
- If the panel is being replaced, remove the J-clips.
Installation Procedure
- If the panel is being replaced, install the J-clips.
- Install the outer door panel alignment pins into the net holes in the door structure.
- Apply LOCTITE® Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent, to the bolts.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the outer door panel fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
