Removal Procedure
- Raise the window to the full UP position.
- Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Remove the door inside handle screw.
- Disengage the door outside handle rod from the door lock assembly.
- Disconnect the wiring connector from the door lock assembly, if equipped.
- Slide the door inside handle rearward in order to disengage the tabs.
- Remove the lock cylinder rod.
- Remove the door lock assembly attachment bolts.
- Remove the inside handle assembly from the door.
- Disconnect the inside door handle and door lock assembly from the rods.
Important: This assembly should include the rods and lock assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Assemble the inside handle, inside handle rods, and lock assembly.
- Install the assembled inside handle, rods, and lock assembly into the door.
- Install the front door lock assembly attachment bolts.
- Connect the wiring connector to the door lock assembly, if equipped.
- Install the inside handle by engaging the tabs and installing the inside handle screw.
- Install the outside handle rod to the lock assembly. Install the outside lock cylinder rod to the lock assembly.
- Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
