Each of the following courses of action requires a setup or programming procedure before the body control module (BCM) can be put into normal service.

Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement

If the BCM is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the subsequent order:

    • BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
    • Theft Learn--Refer to Immobilizer System Component Programming .

Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) Replacement

If the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:

    • BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
    • Theft Learn--Refer to Immobilizer System Component Programming .

Ignition Switch Replacement

If the ignition switch is replaced the following procedures must be performed:

    • BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
    • Theft Learn--Refer to Immobilizer System Component Programming .

Body Control Module (BCM) Reprogramming

If the BCM is reprogrammed, the following procedures must be performed:

    • BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
    • Theft Learn--Refer to Immobilizer System Component Programming .

Theft Deterrent Programming

If the BCM or the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced the programming for the replaced module must be performed before the programming of the theft deterrent system. Refer to the following:

    • BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
    • PCM Reprogramming--Refer to Control Module References .
