1. Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch Inoperative 2. Rear Compartment Lid Release Inoperative |
The rear compartment release circuit operates as follows; battery positive voltage is supplied to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator causing the actuator to energize releasing the rear compartment lid. The rear compartment may be released with the dash mounted rear compartment release switch or with the keyless entry fob. The ignition must be in the OFF or ACCESSORY positions for the rear compartment to be released with a keyless entry transmitter fob (RFA).

⇒ | If the trunk latch does not does not release, refer to Rear Compartment Lid Switch Malfunction Malfunction. |
⇒ | If the trunk latch does not does not release, refer to Rear Compartment Lid Malfunction. |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test the circuit terminal D for a short to ground. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF and the B+ circuit fuse is good, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test the control circuit for a short to ground. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If the latch does not perform as specified, replace the rear compartment lid latch. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, replace the rear compartment lid release switch. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the rear compartment lid release switch. |
