Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement Except Redline

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

    2. Object Number: 877675 Size: SH
  2. Unsnap and remove the upper steering column cover.

    3. Object Number: 877677 Size: SH
  3. Remove the lower steering column cover screws.

    4. Object Number: 877679 Size: SH
  4. Lower the steering column adjusting handle.
  5. Unsnap and remove the left lower steering column cover.

    6. Object Number: 877680 Size: SH
  6. Remove the right lower steering column cover.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 877680 Size: SH
  1. Install the right lower steering column cover.

    2. Object Number: 877679 Size: SH
  2. Install the left lower steering column cover and snap into the right cover.
  3. Raise the steering column adjusting handle to lock the steering column into place.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the lower steering column cover screws.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the lower steering column cover screws to 2.6 N·m (23 lb in).

  5. Install the upper steering column cover by guiding the soft closeout under the instrument panel (I/P) trim panel and aligning the retaining fasteners with the lower covers.
  6. Push on the upper steering column cover to secure.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement Redline

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

    2. Object Number: 1680829 Size: SH
  2. Release the upper steering column cover retainers (1).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (2).
  4. Remove the upper trim cover from the vehicle.

    5. Object Number: 877677 Size: SH
  5. Remove the lower steering column cover screws.

    6. Object Number: 877679 Size: SH
  6. Lower the steering column adjusting handle.
  7. Unsnap and remove the left lower steering column cover.

    8. Object Number: 877680 Size: SH
  8. Remove the right lower steering column cover.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 877680 Size: SH
  1. Install the right lower steering column cover.

    2. Object Number: 877679 Size: SH
  2. Install the left lower steering column cover and snap into the right cover.
  3. Raise the steering column adjusting handle to lock the steering column into place.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 877677 Size: SH
  4. Install the lower steering column cover screws.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the lower steering column cover screws to 2.6 N·m (23 lb in).

  5. Position the upper trim cover to the steering column.
  6. Connect the electrical connectors (2).

    7. Object Number: 1680829 Size: SH
  7. Install the upper steering column cover by guiding the soft closeout under the instrument panel (I/P) trim panel and aligning the retainers (1) with the lower covers.
  8. Press on the upper steering column cover until the retainers (1) are fully engaged.
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
