Dome Lamp

The dome lamp had a three position switch. The positions are as follows:

OFF: The OFF position switches the dome lamp off. It will not come on with the doors open or closed.

DOOR: The DOOR position switches the dome lamp on when any door is opened or when the Saturn Security System (if equipped or optional) is activated and off when the doors are closed.

ON: The ON position switches the dome lamp on. It will remain on with the doors open or closed.

Delayed Dome Lamp

The delayed dome lamp is available on vehicles with the Saturn Security System. In the DOOR position, the dome lamp will be controlled by the doors and the Saturn Security System (see Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation ). The dome lamp will come on when any of the doors are opened. When you enter or exit your vehicle through the driver's door, the dome lamp will stay on for a short period of time. The dome lamp will go off after the door is closed as long as the ignition is off.

Battery Run-Down Protection

This feature shuts off all lamps that are left on for more than 20 minutes when the ignition is off. This will help keep your battery from running down if the interior lamps are left on.
