The lever on the right side of the steering column operates the windshield wipers. Move the wiper lever to the position you want:
(High Speed): The wipers will run continuously at high speed.Your wipers will operate with the key in the "RUN" or "ACC" positions. The wipers will also operate for up to 10 minutes after turning the vehicle off (in high speed only) or until the driver's door is opened.
If your vehicle is equipped with the Automatic Headlamp System, your headlamps will turn on whenever the wiper switch is moved to "HI," "LO" or "INT" (Intermittent).
Heavy snow or ice can overload your wipers. Clear away snow or ice to prevent an overload. If your windshield wipers are stalled for a few seconds in low speed, an electronic circuit breaker will stop the wiper motor until it cools to protect it from damage. To reset the circuit breaker, move the wiper control switch back to "OFF" and then move to the desired position.
If your windshield wipers are stalled for a few seconds in high speed, the wiper fuse may open. Refer to Fuses and Circuit Breakers for fuse replacement information.
For Intermittent Time Delay, turn your wiper/washer switch by moving it up or down, to the following symbols:
• | Long Time Delay |
• | Medium Time Delay |
• | Short Time Delay |
If your wiper switch is set to "INT" (intermittent), the delay will change with vehicle speed. The delay will get shorter as you go faster. The delay will get longer as you slow down.
Pull the windshield wiper/washer lever toward you to spray washer fluid on the windshield. The spray will continue until you release the lever. If the wipers are "OFF," the wipers will make three complete wipes and then stop.
