Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement Early Production

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. If equipped, disable the roof rail airbag module. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  4. Remove the upper lock pillar trim. Refer to Lock Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  5. Remove the lower lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Garnish Lower Molding Replacement .

  7. On the sedan, disconnect the center seat belt webbing from the anchoring buckle by inserting an awl in the slot at the top of the buckle.

  9. Remove the rear seat belt anchor bolts.

  10. Object Number: 876540  Size: SH
  11. Remove the trim panel push-in fasteners.

  12. Object Number: 876447  Size: SH
  13. Reach underneath the trim panel depress the bezel tabs and push the webbing bezels up and out of the trim panel.
  14. Feed the seat belt webbing, the webbing bezels, and the anchor bolts back through the holes in the shelf trim.
  15. Remove the rear window shelf trim from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear window shelf trim.
  2. Feed the seat belt webbing, the anchor bolts, and the bezels through the slots in the shelf trim.
  3. Install the webbing bezels in the shelf trim.

  4. Object Number: 876540  Size: SH
  5. Install the push-in fasteners.

  6. Object Number: 876579  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the rear seat belt anchor bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  9. On the sedan, install the center seat belt webbing in the anchoring buckle.
  10. Install the lower lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Garnish Lower Molding Replacement .
  11. Install the upper lock pillar trim. Refer to Lock Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  12. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  13. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  14. If equipped, enable the roof rail airbag module. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
