Makes 🢒 Saturn 🢒 2003 🢒 ION 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column 🢒 Steering Wheel Shroud Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
  3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 877682 Size: SH
  4. Place the steering wheel face down on a clean surface.
  5. Remove the steering wheel shroud screws.
  6. Remove the steering wheel shroud.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 877682 Size: SH

    Important: Make certain that the steering wheel inflatable restraint retaining clips(1) are in the correct position when installing the steerring wheel shroud.

  1. Install the steering wheel shroud and screws.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the steering wheel shroud screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  2. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  3. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
  4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
