    • J 36346 Fascia Retainer Remover
    • J 44810 Transaxle Range Switch Alignment Tool
  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Place the transmission shift lever in the neutral position.

  3. Object Number: 866178  Size: SH
  4. Using the J 36346 or equivalent, disconnect the shift cable from the park/neutral shift lever.

  5. Object Number: 866179  Size: SH
  6. Remove the park/neutral position switch lever and nut.
  7. Loosen the park/neutral position switch bolts.

  8. Object Number: 866181  Size: SH
  9. Install the J 44810 to the manual shaft in order to align the pointer to the neutral base line.
  10. Rotate the park/neutral position switch as necessary until the tool drops into the hole on the park/neutral position switch.
  11. Remove theJ 44810 from the manual shaft.
  12. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  13. Tighten the park/neutral position switch bolts.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  15. Install the park/neutral position switch lever and nut.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  17. Connect the shift cable to the park/neutral shift lever.
  18. Verify the park/neutral position switch adjustment by starting the vehicle in all ranges. If the transmission starts in any range other than park or neutral, readjust the park/neutral position switch.
