The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A technician may find a transmission fluid leak at the cooler hose, typically at the lower hose/pipe fitting on the transmission. (see illustration below)
Once the leak has been identified as a cooler line fitting, carefully remove the line to determine if the o-ring/seal is damaged. This seal is available as a service part and should be replaced each time a line is removed for any reason. SI document #1995787 "Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement" details the procedure needed for servicing these seals.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
