Power Locks Do Not Unlock At Key Out Of Ignition - keywords lock inoperative intermittent power program

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A technician or customer may comment that the doors do not unlock when the key is removed from the ignition. They may state it is intermittent in nature.

If the operator cycles the power locking switch (from locked to unlock and back to locked) AFTER the system has automatically locked all doors on drive off, the doors will remain locked at key out. This is normal operation and cannot be customized. To unlock the doors you will need to use the power locking switch on the dash. This feature is not covered in the owner's manual or Service Information description of operation. Additionally the locks will unlock/lock ALL doors/hatch (including fuel door) at the same time, this cannot be changed with programming/customization.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
