Subject: | Infotainment System (radio) Inoperative at PDI |
Models: | 2008 Saturn Astra |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A technician may find the Infotainment/radio system is inoperative when performing the PreDelivery Inspection (PDI).
Due to the extended shipping time of the Astra the fuse for the Infotainment/radio system is moved to an empty cavity in the UHJB to lower power consumption during transit. Use a fuse puller to move the 20 amp Infotainment (radio) fuse from cavity F11 (See Illustration A Below) to cavity F35 in the under hood junction block (UHJB). The fuse puller is located in the rear zone module located on the left side of the cargo area behind a cover between the two large connectors in the middle (See Illustration B Below). This information is available in the 2008 Astra PDI form "Special Instruction Items" in DealerWorld and the new model features bulletin 07-00-89-058a in Service Information.
